Rapides Coordinated Funding Request 2020-2021
Chapter 709, Part B of Bulletin 140 states that "The lead agency shall provide an opportunity for each publicly-funded program in the community network and the general public in the coverage area of the community network to comment on the proposed funding request prior to submission to the department and shall include documentation of this process in the funding request. "

Rapides Parish School District, as Lead Agency for the Rapides Early Childhood Network (RECN), provided multiple opportunities for each publicly funded program in the network and the general community to comment on the proposed funding request. Publicly funded programs participated in a presentation of the Coordinated Funding Model on January 15, 2020 at the monthly RECN Meeting. A folder with all pertinent information was shared with publicly funded programs, along with a copy of the coordinated funding request template. All publicly funded programs received a follow-up email with attachments of the Coordinated Funding Webinar, the Coordinated Funding Guidelines, and the Coordinated Funding Request Template. The Lead Agency reached out to those interested publicly funded programs through phone calls, emails, and visits to the programs. The general public in the community were provided an opportunity to comment on the proposed funding request through a link on the Rapides Parish School Board website-rpsb.us-that was created in late January. Survey Monkey was the tool used for any interested persons in the community to comment on the proposed funding request through the link. The Lead Agency also shared the link with all publicly funded programs and community partners to view the proposed coordinated funding request template and comment on the document.

Publicly funded programs participated in a presentation of the Coordinated Funding Model on January 15, 2020 at the monthly RECN Meeting. No publicly funded programs submitted coordinated funding requests for the NSECD Grant for 2020-2021. The Rapides Parish School District has sufficient classroom capacity for the LA 4/Preschool Expansion program and did not expand the funding request for 2020-2021 or look for additional space outside the Rapides Parish School District.

All publicly funded programs submitted their October 1 Child Count to the Lead Agency in advance of the October 31 deadline. The Child Count numbers were used to submit individual program funding requests to the Lead Agency. The publicly funded programs interested in the coordinated funding seats for 2020-2021 included all Type III early learning centers that met the criteria to request allocated seats for 2020-2021.No publicly funded programs submitted funding requests for the NSECD Grant for 2020-2021. The Rapides Parish School District has sufficient classroom capacity for the LA 4/Preschool Expansion program and did not expand the request or look for additional space with other publicly funded programs for 2020-2021.
