One By One Petition

As concerned citizens who live, work and play in West Michigan, we believe the following in regards to the current proposed truck stop at I-196 and Adams Street in Holland Township:

- A truck stop is not a permitted use "by right" in a land zoned highway commercial C-3. A truck stop is greater than the sum of its parts, thus it does not fit within the current parameters of a C-3 zone.
- The Holland Charter Township did not follow procedural laws in granting special use requests and sign variances. Thus, approval for the project should be considered null and void.
- A truck stop at the proposed location is in direct conflict with the time and money invested by Holland Charter Township and the Outdoor Discovery Center at the Hawthorn Natural Pond area.
- The proposed thirteen acre truck stop is not in keeping with the character of our collective Lakeshore communities. It is our responsibility to ensure Lakeshore families continue to live, work and play in a clean and safe environment. Such a complex will surely impact our air, water, wildlife and daily commutes.
