Campus Request for McBurney Center Training
The McBurney Disability Resource Center provides training to campus departments, units, faculty, staff, and student organizations on topics exploring disability and accessibility. While McBurney Center staff are available to customize training to meet your group's needs, some typical topics include:
- Accommodations Training: How students request, eligibility determination process, accommodation rights and expectations
- Social Justice: Disability awareness, identity, and culture
- Universal Design to Learning: development of accessible course, curriculum, etc.
- Transition: preparation for moving from high school to college; preparing for entering the workplace
- Adaptive Technology: audio books, notetaking services, Braille, captioning, etc.
- Deaf and Hard of Hearing: Teaching and interacting with students, interpreters, and captioners
- Current Disability Landscape: Trends and current issues facing campus and students with disabilities
