Deadline Past *
Even though January 9, 2026 was the deadline to participate in the 2026 Los Altos Community Teams program, there are sometimes a few late registrants that can be placed on teams.   People that register after the deadline will only be placed on a team if new team members make up any missed training sessions, there is space on a team, and the coach approves the addition.

Experience *
When we divide people up onto teams in late January, we try to distribute the talent among the teams.  What experience and talent to do you currently have?  It is OK to leave any or all areas unchecked - use "Beginner in all areas" in this case.  Anyone who checks "Excellent Botball" experience level in any area should be ready to be a team lead in that area.  Check all that apply.
Required
Preferred Role *
Some team members specialize and some do a bit of everything.  What do you want to do this Botball season?  Check all that apply.
Required
Prior Robotics Teams
Have you been or are you currently on another robotics team?  Answering this will better help us understand your robotics experience level.  Check all that apply.
FRC or other Robotics Team?
Are you on an FRC, FTC, VEX, or other Robotics team that will be meeting during the Botball season?  If so, which one?  Example:  FRC 971 Spartan Robotics
Prior Botball Team
Were you on a 2025 Botball team?  If so which one?
Team preference?
Do you have a team preference?  Example: "I want to be on a team with Parker and on a different team than Mitch."  Feel free to make a list of friends.  While we try to satisfy all of these requests, there is no guarantee that you will be on the same team as your preference(s).
How did you find LACT?
How did you find out about the opportunity to join a Los Altos Community Botball Team (LACT)?
Team Support
This question is for team member parents.  Parents, would you be willing to coach and/or host a team or help in some other way?  Please select all that apply.   Most teams only have one or more Coaches.  Some teams divide parent leadership into two roles, Coach and Team Manager.  Team Meeting Host provides a location such as a 12'x12' or larger room or garage for team meetings.  The Playing Field Manager organizes the construction and distribution of the playing fields for the teams at the beginning of each season.  The Playing Field Transportation Volunteer transports playing field pieces including two 4' x 4' sheets of plywood and other playing filed parts to team meeting locations a few times a year.  Assistants help the managers in the different roles.
Store Botball Gear
Some team hosts do not have room to store the Botball Playing fields and robot parts during the off-season.  The playing fields break down to 4' x 4' pieces of plywood and white laminate that stack to less than 6 inches thick.  The pipes fit in a 1' x 1' x 4' box.  The robot parts fit in a medium sized box.  If needed, would you be willing to store any of these from May or July until they are needed again in February?
Allergies *
Team meetings are typically held in people's homes.  Do you have a problem with being in a house with cats, dogs, or other allergens?  If so, which pets are you allergic to?  If you are allergic to something other than cats or dogs, list that in "Other".  Give us any additional helpful information on allergies in "Other" with this question or in "Comments" below.
Required
Laptop *
It really helps if each team member has a laptop to use at the team meetings.  Can you bring a laptop to the training sessions and/or the team meetings to be used for programming and other team activities?  If so, what operating system(s) does it have?  Check all that apply.
Required
T-Shirt *
Some years, team members are given T-shirts at the competition and it is handy to have everyone's T-shirt size when they register.  All sizes are adult sizes.
Information Sharing Permission *
Can we share your contact information with other team members and their parents?  It is much easier to manage the teams if everyone is okay with their contact information being shared with fellow team members and coaches.  If you have some special situation where you do not want your information shared, please talk with Michael Schuh about it and we will see if we can work something out.
