Volunteers are needed for the following:
Weekly Food DistributionEvery Wednesday 8 am- 11 am. Weekly food distribution. We need: 1) inside help along an “assembly-line” format to fill boxes. This is done indoors in the air-conditioned hall; 2) volunteers outside to load boxes and miscellaneous items into cars. Lifting and working outside is a challenge here but we do sub-out volunteers in short intervals; 3) Parking attendants to work on a team with others directing parking and car flow during distribution; and through-out the week: 4) pick-up drivers to drive to area supermarkets for food pick-up as little as once a week or more if desired. This requires using your own vehicle and may require a large space in your vehicle depending on place of pick-up. May including some lifting of boxes.
Administration help, Facebook Posting - additional volunteers are needed to help with administrative duties and someone willing to assist with social media.
Our pantry feeds over 1,000 each week maintaining approximately 260 families in need. The food pantry is run strictly by volunteers - there are no paid staff.
If you are not a registered volunteer with Flagler Volunteer Services by signing up to assist with this volunteer position you will be registered and will be subject to a sexual predator background check before being referred. Following the background check a referral email will be sent to both Care Cupboard Food Pantry and your email address to make a connection!
