The body changes rapidly during pregnancy. We are investigating how these changes are represented in the human brain during pregnancy and how this might impact our sense of self.
We are recruiting right handed, low-risk pregnant women (aged 18-40) to participate in an MRI brain imaging study during the third trimester (after 30 weeks gestation). You are welcome to sign up at any point in your pregnancy, and we will schedule your session during this time.
We are also recruiting healthy, right-handed women aged 30 to 40 who have never been pregnant and are not currently trying for a baby.
Participation takes 3-4 hours (including questionnaires, cognitive and sensory discrimination tasks, a hemoglobin (finger prick) blood test, and a one-hour MRI brain scan) at Monash Biomedical Imaging, 770 Blackburn Road, Clayton.
You will receive a $50 Coles-Myer gift card as thanks for your time and contribution.
Please fill in your details if you would like to participate. We will then reach out by phone or email with next steps.
Full details of the study, including inclusion criteria, are available via the explanatory statements.
