From surrealist painters to fifties Hollywood science-fiction series, countless artists have been obsessed with capturing the curious inner workings of the mind. Our spring 2025 show, entitled “mind’s eye,” aims to delve into the dancer’s mind as a creative force — one that constructs alternate realities, dreams, and fantasies in a way that can be uniquely embodied through movement. We hope to bend rules in dance, use our bodies and movements to mimic what our minds perceive of the world, fantastical or realistic. Instead of letting dance rules and styles guide us, we want to be guided by the unconscious mind and its perception of the world. “Mind’s eye” will be a boundary-defying production united by a common thread of inspiration throughout each piece.
