Girl SpeakOUT is a unique full day summer camp program offered on Saturdays from June -August. The purpose of Girl SpeakOut is to motivate, empower, and build self-efficacy through the utilization of arts. Through engaging, and enrichment activities Girl SpeakOut will help to boost confidence, build self-esteem and self-worth, and inspire girls to SpeakOut, and take an active role in their schools and communities against all forms of violence. We are dedicated to inspiring and guiding girls ages 10-18 to self-discover and develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to consistently make informed life-choices from a place of self-knowledge, self-respect, and strength. The campers are divided in three groups based upon their ages, 10-12, 13-15, and 16-18. Through Girl SpeakOut Summer Camp participants are guided to develop tools they need to successfully navigate challenges adolescent girls are at risk of experiencing, including (but not limited to) body image, the influence of the media, violence against girls, abusive relationships, formation of healthy relationships, and ability to self-advocate. Girl SpeakOut Summer Camp integrates 5 program components from the Peace Model which includes, Prevention, Education, Active-Arts, Character-Creation, and Expressive-Empowerment.
Girl SpeakOut ensures the safety and supervision of each camper in our program. We carefully select a team that is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience. These counselors are rigorously screened and extensively trained prior to the start of the summer. Girl SpeakOut Summer Camp offers 7 free camp session in which lunch and snacks are provided. All campers are required to get a Girl SpeakOut Summer Camp Kit (one-time fee $25 per camper) which includes their Girl SpeakOut T-shirt, and Girl SpeakOut Essentials.
