2019 Disciple Camp Counselor Application
Planning for Ebenezer Lutheran and St. Paul’s Church's annual Disciple Camp is well underway. This year's camp is Sunday, July 22-Thursday, July 25. Please review the Disciple Camp Counselor responsibilities, and if you are interested in serving as a camp counselor, complete the application and submit before May 5, 2019.

Interviews will be scheduled with all applicants.

Qualified applicants should
• Be rising high school juniors or older.
• Have experience with children (assisting with VBS, SS, camps, babysitting, etc.)
• Be able to handle emergencies (without drama ☺)
• Have completed Ebenezer/St. Paul Lutheran Church's Child Protection Policy Training Program. (If you have not had this training you will need to attend a session before camp.)

Responsibilities:
• Chaperone campers for all activities in morning, afternoon, and evening, including meals, according to the schedule. Sleep in assigned cabin with campers.
• Maintain order in cabins. Assist adult leaders with enforcing bedtime and lights out.
• Assist younger campers with clothing and other personal care routines.

Expectations:
• Arrive on Sunday, July 21, by 3 p.m. to participate in counselor orientation.
• Be present and prompt at all assigned activities for the duration of the camping experience. Counselors will get two breaks each day apart from the campers.
• Cell phone use must be limited to counselor break times only, out of sight of campers, and no cell phone use on the porch. (Note: Campers will be told to leave their cell phones in the cabin, and phones found in use outside of cabin quiet times will be confiscated and returned after the closing program Thursday night.)
• Lead meal time blessing if you are asked to do so by an adult leader.

Compensation: Counselors will be compensated $100 at the completion of the week.

Counselor applications are due by May 5, camp@ebenezerlutheran.org or the church office: 1301 Richland Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Counselors will be notified of their selection as soon as possible. In the event that we have more applicants than positions, priority will be given to early applicants.
