2021 Carr Scholarship Application
FOR DISTRICT 18 RESIDENTS ONLY and MUST have filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form by visiting
or the Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA)
. Applications are DUE APRIL 30, 2021 - NO EXCEPTIONS
You may use the Scholarship at an out-of-state school only if the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) has verified that your intended major is not available at a Maryland school. To be considered for unique major status, contact MHEC at
for the requirements.
Delegate Scholarships are for a single academic year. You are encouraged to reapply each year. You may wish to also contact your other District 18 legislators about their scholarship programs.
A COMPLETE application is composed of TWO parts. First, is the information in the questionnaire below.
Part TWO is writing a two page essay in a SEPARATE WORD DOCUMENT, covering the following points:
1. Why have you chosen to pursue a college education?
2. What accomplishments, community service, and school achievements have prepared you for where you are now?
3. Where do you want to be in ten years?
Again, both the questionnaire below AND the separate essay in a Word Document emailed back to Delegate Carr, constitutes a complete application. ONLY COMPLETE APPLICATIONS ARE CONSIDERED.
