In a few sentences, please describe your interests in being an RA. What experience and knowledge do you expect to gain from being a research assistant, in general and specifically in our lab? How might this experience prepare you for your future career?
Your answer
There are two tiers of research assistants in the WISH lab. Folks who are interested in participating but can only commit to 3 - 6 hours a week (or only one semester) are "Affiliates", and will work on targeted tasks for one or two specific projects. Affiliates will meet once a month with the lab manager. Folks who are able to commit to 6+ hours a week over two or more semesters are "Research Assistants (RAs)", and will work on a variety of projects across the lab depending on their interests and skills. RAs will meet once a week with the full WISH lab team. Note that only RAs are eligible for UCARE, FYRE or honors projects, and will get preference for any paid positions that arise from grant-funded projects. Which role are you interested in?
