MakingMUSIC Concert School Reservations (2024-25)

MakingMUSIC concerts introduce elementary school students to the full symphony experience. The program features traditional "classical" music, work written by contemporary composers, and student performers – including student conductors! 

  • 2025 Concert Dates: Wednesday, March 12, Thursday, March 13, Friday, March 14
  • Times: 10:30am and 12pm each day (concert length ~45 mins) *SEE BELOW*

  • Audience: Grades 4-5
  • Cost: $8 per student/chaperone (1 free chaperone per every 10 student tickets)

NOTE: JCPS elementary schools K-Z receive complimentary admission and transportation to a MakingMUSIC concert during the 2024-25 school year (grades 4-5 only). Schools A-J and all non-JCPS schools are invited to the concert and may use private or grant funds for this experience. (Cost $8 per student) 
*Schools with early start time (7:30-8:40am) should attend AM concert. Schools with later start times should attend 12pm concert.

LO CONDUCTING SCHOOL: Each school attending a concert may recommend one (1) 4th or 5th grade student to participate in the Young Conductors program. Participating students learn the art of conducting, then represent their school and debut their skills on stage during the performance. Additional information to come!

RESERVATIONS: Complete the form below and a LO staff member will be in touch to confirm details. (Each school should submit one (1) reservation form for all 4th and 5th grade classrooms at your school.)

The LO kindly asks that one (1) teacher or staff member coordinates the concert field trip on your school's behalf. This individual will be responsible for communicating with the LO staff and sharing program details with teachers and admin at your school. JCPS elementary schools K-Z receive complimentary buses via Miller Transportation. A Miller representative will be in contact with the organizing teacher in the spring. Please do not contact Miller until they reach out to you. 

The LO can provide a limited number of ADA-accessible buses and harnesses for schools on a first-come, first-served basis. If we are unable to accommodate your request, schools will be asked to arrange transportation directly with JCPS or another provider at their own cost.
