Dominion, with direction from the FCC Department of Public Works, is in the process of replacing all streetlights throughout the City. Sample lamps have been installed on both sides of Whittier Circle with two configurations. One side has fewer lights (every other post), the other side has all lights turned on.
Before DPW gives Dominion the green light to move forward with the entire neighborhood, Whittier Park residents are being given the opportunity to provide feedback and determine which configuration is preferred. Whatever the majority prefers will be implemented throughout the neighborhood.
If the preference is fewer lights, the final install will involve removing every other light post throughout the neighborhood.
