WHAT: 2018 State of Education Address and Award Ceremony.

Wisconsin Public Education Network is honored to be a recipient of the 2018 Friend of Education Award, and invites you to join us in accepting that honor.

The main event in the Capitol Rotunda (from 12-1 pm) will be followed by a reception and #VotePublic action meeting in Room 328 NW of the State Capitol.

Meeting agenda includes: a summary of the main feature of Tony Evers' 2019-2021 budget proposal by Tom McCarthy of DPI; legislative and Blue Ribbon updates, partner updates and reports, VOTE PUBLIC action resources, and a quick,fun collective action opportunity to send a positive message of support for public education to decision-makers while we're in the statehouse. Come for the cake and a light lunch, stay for the fun & get informed and engaged! Old friends and new faces welcome!

Noon-1: State of Education Address and Award Ceremony, Rotunda (additional space on balcony)
1-2: WPEN Reception, 328 NW [cake and sandwiches will be served]
2-3:30: WPEN Meeting & Vote Public Power Hour, 328 NW

WHERE: Wisconsin State Capitol, Madison, WI 53703.

WHO: All Wisconsin Public Education Network partners, public education advocacy team members, and supporters of Wisconsin public schools are invited to attend. This is YOUR award!

PARKING TIPS: there's usually space in the open air hourly city parking lot at East Washington and Butler (1 block from the square); there is also limited coin-meter parking on Butler/surrounding streets, and parking ramps at 110 East Wilson St. (Government East Garage) and 214 N. Carroll (State Street Capitol garage).
