Attend April 16th Point Reyes National Seashore Open-House

Please join a community open-house about the future of the Point Reyes National Seashore co-hosted by The Nature Conservancy (TNC), the National Park Service (NPS), and the Department of the Interior (DOI).

When: Thursday, April 16th, 5 - 8 PM
Where: West Marin School Gym

We encourage you to attend, tell TNC, NPS, and DOI staff your vision for the future of the Seashore and its management, and ask questions. There will be several stations for the public to engage with staff. No RSVP required; drop in anytime.

Learn more about TNC’s role on the Seashore, as well as FAQs, here. Suggested Talking Points:
  • I support coastal prairie habitat restoration, an ecosystem that has largely been eliminated from California.

  • I support habitat restoration for wildlife benefits, including removing fencing, eliminating waterway diversions, and removing invasive plants.

  • I am excited for enhanced visitor access, biodiversity, and water quality.

  • I do not support the privatization of Seashore public lands for any new commercial uses.

  • Public lands should be accessible to all.

  • I value park uses like restoration, public access, recreation (e.g., hiking, birding, wildlife viewing), and education.

  • I support the park and partner’s continued water quality monitoring program, as well as monitoring for other uses like increased visitation impacts.

  • I support monitoring of targeted grazing and other tactics for restoration benefits to ensure their effectiveness.

  • I am excited to volunteer in the restoration and stewardship of the park.

  • I support education in the park on stewardship and Leave No Trace visitor practices.

  • I support just and equitable transitional housing outside of the park for displaced residents.
