Things to Consider Prior to Placing A Request:

1. Hats & Mittens services community groups, local nonprofits and school programs. We currently do not provide items directly to individual families. If you are in need, please contact your local school or social service agency to find a local partner who can provide you with hats and mittens. You can also reach out to The Greater Twin Cities United Way (www.211unitedway.org) for additional resources.

2. Our service area is the 7 county Twin Cities Metro Area. This includes the following counties: Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington. If your organization falls beyond those boundaries, please reach out to your local social service agency or The United Way for information on local organizations supplying warm gear.

3. If your request is for a school group, please check with the school's nurse or social worker to see if a request has already been made. If not, please consider reaching out to the entire school to see if there are additional needs we can fill all at once.

4. We will start filling requests beginning October 1st, 2021. Please note that we are an entirely volunteer staffed organization. We strive to fulfill your request in a timely manner, but due to inventory and or staffing restraints we aren’t always able to do so. Please place your request at least 8-10 business days prior to your need by date. We will fill requests in the order they are placed.
