ECSESS Ctrl + Z
Hello and thank you for taking the time to fill out the CTRL + Z form! Below you can find some complementary information about what this form is, and who reads it.

1. What is CTRL + Z?

CTRL + Z  is intended to allow ECSE students to anonymously raise any complaints or concerns, and to chat with us.

You can use this form to:
- Report inappropriate professor/TA behaviour (e.g. bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment etc.)
- Report violations of the student assessment policy (e.g. The professor has administered a test worth more than 10% in the last two calendar weeks of the semester, The professor has stated the final exam will be worth more than 75% of your final grade., The professor has given a quiz unannounced thus disallowing OSD students to properly request accommodation.)
- Report general course concerns (e.g. This course heavily violates the time requirements listed on the McGill calendar.)
- Vent/complain !!!
- Provide feedback to ECSESS as well, or truly anything in general you may want us to hear.

Please do not restrict yourself from filling out this form if you don't think or are unsure if something violates academic policy. Any information can help us better understand context for courses and help us help you make your student experience better!

2. Who will read my response?

Adam Corbier (ECSESS VP Academic) and Lalita Allard Vavatsikos (ECSESS Equity and Mental Health Officer) are the only people with access to the responses to this form.

Our responsibilities:
(1) As VP Academic, Adam's position is to advocate for your voice and student rights, and represent you to the ECSE Department.
(2) As E&M Officer, Lalita's main role is to ensure an equitable environment for all ECSE students.

Together, it is our objective to create an equitable and respectful environment such that innovation, learning, and personal growth can occur in the ECSE community.

3. Will my complaint be kept confidential? I am scared of facing repercussions.

All the information brought up in this form is completely confidential. Only the two of us will see your response and we will 100% anonymize it before bringing it up with the department, if it's an academic concern. We optionally ask for an email so we can follow up with you on the actions taken and any conclusions.

We will never disclose your identity to anyone without your explicit consent. We will never quote your complaint in a way that it could be traced back to you without your explicit consent.

4. I don't feel comfortable filling out this form/I don't want Adam or Lalita reading my complaint.

If you would prefer to email only one us directly, please do so with the address:

Adam (VP Academic): ecsess.vpacademic@mcgilleus.ca
Lalita Allard Vavatsikos (Equity & Mental Health Officer): ecsess.equity@mcgilleus.ca

If you would like to raise your concern but do not want to raise it to either of us, please address your email to Cyril El Feghali at ecsess.president@mcgilleus.ca.

If you so choose, your complaint will not be disclosed to Adam/Lalita.
