FAQ and Event Guidelines:

YSpace is accessible by car, by transit, and by foot.

What should I bring to Pitch It?

Your presentation (if it is a PowerPoint or equivalent, please bring your own device to connect to a (provided) projector).

How are pitches judged?

Pitches will be judged by a panel of qualified business professionals. Their decision is final.
The following scoring criteria will be in place to ensure objective evaluation:
Creativity: Is this a novel idea? How about marketing and selling strategies?
Development: Does a business plan exist? If this is a product can a realistic margin be produced? What are the possibilities for mass production. Has research on the market sample been performed.
Presentation: How effectively were visual aids used? Was the pitch persuasive?
The questions are not prescriptive but give competitors a sense of what the criteria look for.

Do I have to stay for the entire day?

Competitors are strongly encouraged to attend the awards ceremony or to send a representative as awards will not be available for pick-up at a later date. Members who are not competing will not be supervised and are expected to have permission from a parent or guardian to travel to and from YSpace unaccompanied. Lunch will be provided.

Can I compete without a team?

Yes, the competition is open to groups of 1-4 competitors.

What is the refund policy?Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds. We use ticket sales to purchase food, supplies, and other materials for the event. You may register using your legal name or your preferred name, though we would strongly suggest the former.
