Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to support your Collective Bargaining Committee by completing this Class Size Survey. Although our Collective Agreement does protect our working conditions, we require vigilance on the part of all members in order to maintain appropriate recommended class sizes.
If you encounter any problems with this survey speak with one of your CBC Reps.
This electronic survey will be used to collect data for most "Regular" classes that have a specific course code
including GLE courses this year.

A few important notes:
· Data entry is to be based on class sizes (i.e. your class lists) as of Tuesday October 14th, 2025.
· Note: For the 2025-26 school year all Grade 9 and Grade 10 De-streamed /Single Streamed Academic, and Open level courses will use a recommended class size maximum of 27 with the understanding that there will be no double counting of Essential Level students. All other classes will follow L19.06 in the Collective Agreement.
- If you teach at a school that offers Essential level classes in grades 9 or 10 English, Math or Science, you may have “Essential Level students” in a Non- Grade 9 or Non-Grade 10 Non-De-Streamed / Non-Single Streamed / Non-Open level or Non-Essential class. In this case, you will find a separate field in the survey in which you are asked to indicate how many of “Essential Level students” are included (to a Max of 5) on your
Non- Grade 9 or Non-Grade 10 Non-De-Streamed / Non-Single Streamed / Non-Open level or Non-Essential class list.
- If you have a combined
class (two or more course codes other than a Grade 9 or Grade 10 De-Streamed / Single Streamed / Open Level Course), choose the lower of the maximum class sizes.
- If you are a LTO Teacher follow
the same recommended maximums as Contract Teachers
- If you teach MLL Content Courses / MLL Core Courses / MLL Elective Courses the ESL recommended maximum of 17 applies unless otherwise regulated.
- If you are an E-Learning Teacher do not include your E-Learning class numbers in this survey
