Petition for Protected Bike Lanes on the Longfellow Bridge
Developed by the Boston Cyclists Union, Cambridge Bicycle Safety, and other members of the Massachusetts Vision Zero Coalition
Current plans for the Longfellow Bridge, set to reopen in May, will have no protected bicycle lanes, and will re-institute two lanes for cars. By signing this petition, I urge state and city officials to work with advocates to implement protected bike lanes on the inbound side of the Longfellow Bridge. Safe bike facilities can be piloted, keeping a single travel lane inbound for motor vehicles and implementing a two-lane separated cycle track, as soon as possible without delay.
