Greenpop are looking to identify
under greened areas in which to establish green spaces as part of an exciting new project we are working on. We are specifically looking at sites located in
Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban.
These sites have to meet very specific criteria:
- The site must be located in a low-income community;
- The site has existing stakeholders;
- The site is currently maintained with a permanent caretaker;
- The site is already partially in use, such as a community centre, sports field, community garden, etc.;
- The site has an accessible and reliable source of water;
- The site is fenced or has the potential to be fenced/secured;
- The site has easy vehicle access for material delivery;
- There is an absence of excessive rubble, waste/refuse, or soil pollution;
- The ownership of the land is uncontested;
- The land is not listed as a heritage site or protected area or already earmarked for development; and
- The primary site users are not a school or children's organisation.
 If you think your organisation meets these criteria, or know of a site which fits them all, please fill in the form below.
Please note: We have a limited number of sites we can establish as part of this project, however we are hoping that this project will be scaled up in the future, so if your site is not chosen please know that it will remain on record as a potential site for future urban greening opportunities.
