Thank you for registering to volunteer during this difficult time.
Volunteer Victoria wants you to know that the offer of your service is greatly appreciated. As needs are changing rapidly in Greater Victoria, we do not know when or how volunteers might be called into action in a formal way. We also cannot guarantee that your help will be needed a lot, a little, or at all.
We are currently collecting information from volunteers to be able to respond quickly once a call for action has been issued by local officials. For example, Island Health is currently looking for people with clinical skills, such as retired or previously licensed nurses, doctors, persons with skills in lab-work, or visiting health care professionals. If you have these skills please connect directly with Island Health at
TemporaryVolunteer@viha.ca.
If you want to start having an impact immediately, we recommend that you volunteer informally in your own neighbourhood. You do need permission to volunteer informally, and helping neighbours is volunteering! Simply review the safety guidelines for volunteering informally on the Volunteer Victoria website www.volunteervictoria.bc, and please make sure you follow all social distancing rules and recommendations from the BC Government at
