Food Truck & Conversation Collective Part 2: The Ritual of Food

Food + Jews = obsessed! Do you dream of your Grandma's matzah ball soup? Your father’s brisket? Sufganiyot, humus, and shakshuka? Do your friends think you are weird for eating cholent? If so, join us for The Ritual of Food, a conversation about the centrality of food in Jewish tradition and culture, and its dual role as identity marker and as a vehicle for assimilation. We will explore how food has impacted our own Jewish experience, delve deep into our family stories, and discuss the powerful relationship between food and Jewish ritual.

This conversation is Part 2 in our North Hollywood Food Truck Collective series focused on provocative conversations and meaningful relationship building. The series will take place on the first Thursday of the month, June-September, at the North Hollywood Food Truck Collective, which began with the goal of bringing local community members together weekly through diverse food, local live performance and conversation. Los Angeles is the leading city in food truck culture and nowhere do we see this best than NoHo. So make sure to join NuRoots at these monthly gatherings. We’ll bring the blankets and cushions; you bring your food truck dinner, a willingness to share, and an open mind.

Parking: Metered street parking all around North Hollywood

Location to be given out upon RSVP.
