THE COST of LIVING CRISIS                         HOW DOES IT AFFECT YOU                           and YOUR HOUSEHOLD?                                    Anonymous Survey

The rising cost of living is rapidly putting huge pressure on people across the country. It is the most talked about issue faced by our community since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Some say the rise in energy prices is one of the main causes of the inflation that is causing the rising living cost (cost of living crisis) and others say it has been caused by the Covid-19 lockdown measures that brought the economy under inflated pressure or, could be argued that the crisis is caused by both.

We are concerned about the impact the cost of living may be having on families and individual in our community and the plans/ability to make ends meet.

This is why Community Education Foundation & Lyncx (CEF Lyncx) and its partner organisations are keen to understand how this is affecting you, how you are planning to manage any impact and what support we can we, the partnership can argue be put into place or, also ascertain if there is anything our partnership can reasonably do to help you and your family better manage/navigate your selves through the increasing costs of living situation.

What is the Costs of Living?

Cost of living refers to the fall in ‘real’ disposable incomes; the amount of money you and/or your household need to cover basic expenses, such as housing, food, utility bills (electricity, gas, water, council tax) and life-style. It is often used to compare how expensive it is to live in one city versus another. The cost of living is tied to wages.
