Students in grades 3 - 5 are invited to join Siebert Singers, our school’s choir. We sing at ballgames, festivals, competitions and other events around Eastland. It’s a fun way to share your talent, sing a variety of songs, and work as a team.
Siebert Singers meet in the Music/Art room each Monday after school from 3:30 - 4:30 or on Tuesdays if we are out of school on Monday. Please pick up your student on time at 4:30 on the Dome side of the building.
Siebert Singers:
Represent our school in a positive way and require excellent behavior at school and at each performance. We work hard during rehearsals instead of visiting with friends.
Memorize music during rehearsals and at home using videos sent through Remind 101.
Attend rehearsals each week. Students will be allowed to miss 3 times for any reason each semester. On the 4th absence, students will be dismissed from choir for the rest of semester.
Use Remind 101 for all announcements, to post photos, and music to practice. Please fill in the registration information below AND join Remind 101 on the information paper.
Performances/Events:
One Day Sing (beginning of August) - rehearsal/ day camp before school starts to learn music and to get to know new choir members.
Ripfest (1st Saturday in October) - build float and sing at the Courthouse.
Star Spangled Banner at the Mavericks football game in October.
One Starry NIght (1st Saturday in December) - build lighted float and sing at Grimes Gardens.
Christmas Sing Along in December at school.
NRH2O Choir Competition in May.
Up to 10 students may be selected by teachers in December for Regional Choir.
Uniform:
Singers wear blue jeans without holes (no leggings or capris), a pair of black shorts, and our current Siebert Singers shirt. To participate, you must be wearing complete uniform at performances. Shirts will cost $15.
Siebert Singers has been a tradition at our school for many years. We hope it will be a way to develop a love of singing in your student no matter the ability level.
