It is the responsibility of applicants to familiarize themselves with the expectations of the ambassador program prior to applying. Information on the ambassador program is available via http://spp.ucr.edu/ambassadors/.

Committee Participation
Each undergraduate ambassador must participate in a committee. Please rank from 1-3 your preferences for what committee you would like to serve in, should you be selected. Efforts will be made to place candidates in preferred committees, but placements cannot be guaranteed.

1. Community Service & Events Committee - Members plan and execute community service events and efforts, student welcome mixers, student success events, internal social gatherings, etc.

2. Outreach Committee - Members promote SPP and ambassadorial programs, services, and activities.

3. Peer Mentorship Committee - Members provide mentorships to UCR students.

Each applicant must supply the following:

1. A one-page personal statement answering the following question: "Why would you make an ideal Dean's Student Ambassador for the UCR School of Public Policy?" Your essay may be single- or double-spaced. More important than format is the substance of your writing.

3. Bio - no more than 100 words. This will be supplied as part of a briefing document to evaluators. And should you be selected as an ambassador, this will be posted on the ambassador directory. Samples are available at http://spp.ucr.edu/directory/ambassador.html.

I authorize the staff of the School of Public Policy (SPP) at the University of California, Riverside to access and verify my academic records, for the purpose of being considered for the SPP Dean’s Student Ambassador Program. Should I be accepted into the SPP Dean’s Student Ambassador Program, I also authorize SPP staff to access my transcripts and/or proof of enrollment on an ongoing basis to verify continuing academic excellence. *
Should I be accepted into the SPP Dean’s Student Ambassador Program, I give the University of California, Riverside the absolute right and permission to use my photograph/video in its promotional materials and publicity efforts. I understand that the photographs/video may be used in a publication, print ad, direct-mail piece, electronic media (e.g. video, website, social media) or other form of promotion. I understand that should I be selected to advance past the first interview, the group interview with the Dean and current ambassadors will be held on May 11th, 2018 from 5:10 to 6:40 p.m. *
I understand that should I be selected as an ambassador, I must attend mandatory orientation sessions on September 24th and September 25th, 2018. *
I understand the expectations of the ambassador program, and should I be selected as an ambassador, I will fulfill my expectations through the course of my ambassadorship. *
