EBCE - Experience Based Career Education

Academic Internships through EBCE are designed to utilize the entire community as a classroom. Seniors are provided opportunities to observe, study and apply academic skills in a variety of businesses and industries, as well as public and private agencies in this year-long shadowing, internship, mentoring program. By spending two or more hours a day in the Academic Internship Program, a student can earn academic credit while shadowing a series of professionals to learn about career opportunities and planning for the future.
PREREQUISITE:
~Students must be in the 12th Grade.
~A 3.0 Weighted GPA is required.
~No more than 7 absences this school year.
~No more than 10 absences last school year.
~Students must provide their own transportation.
~Your counselor will provide GPA, attendance, and behavioral information to the EBCE teacher for review.
TO EARN KEES MONEY FOR COLLEGE: Students must be enrolled in five (5) different classes each semester. Although many students devote more than one period to EBCE, it will only count as one of the five classes for KEES. If you take EBCE and you decide to enroll in a non-credit course such as a teacher's aide, you will not have enough credits to earn KEES money for your senior year.
