Yes! I would like to volunteer for the May 14-15 Lobby Day to End Discrimination Against LGBTQ Families and Youth
There are three roles for which we are seeking volunteers:
1. A team leader for a lobby day team. This requires attending a one-hour webinar training before Lobby Day, the full training on May 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help train the team, and the full Lobby Day on May 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to lead the team.
2. A credentialed mental health specialist for the May 14th training day and May 15 lobby day, in case foster alumni and other attendees telling their stories require emotional support.
3. A youth trainer, to help develop curricula prior to Lobby Day and help train LGBTQ and allied youth aged 13-18 on May 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to effectively lobby their members of Congress.

This event is being organized by Family Equality Council, COLAGE, and FosterClub. The primary goal of the lobby day will be to bring LGBTQ families, people with LGBTQ parents and family members, LGBTQ and allied foster alumni, LGBTQ youth accompanied by their parents and guardians, child welfare providers, and faith leaders to Washington, DC to tell their stories to their members of Congress. Attendees will ask members of Congress to cosponsor and vote for the Equality Act and Every Child Deserves a Family Act, and to provide vigorous oversight of HHS to ensure that it enforces its nondiscrimination requirements for LGBTQ parents and families, LGBTQ youth, and foster care and adoption providers.
