2019 Peter Mendell Award

The Jeunesses Musicales Canada Foundation announces the opening of applications for the Peter Mendell Award
This year, the award includes a $ 5 000 scholarship and rewards a full-time string student (violin, viola, cello or double-bass) registered in a classical music performance program at a Québec university, or completing their undergraduate or master's studies at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec. Two finalists will also receive $ 500 scholarships, offered by Jeunesses Musicales Canada.
Qualifications
Potential candidates are full-time string students (violin, viola, cello or double-bass) registered in a classical music performance program at a Québec university, or completing their 3rd, 4th or 5th cycle at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec.

Candidates must be 25 years or under on May 13, 2019. Applications must be sent no later than May 13, 2019 at 5 p.m., and should include a reference letter from the candidate's instrument teacher as well as audio recordings. Only solo recordings or recordings with piano accompaniment will be considered.
