IDENTITIES 2018 Board Application
Hello! Welcome to IDENTITIES 2018! We are so happy that you would like to apply for a board position. IDENTITIES is Harvard’s premier fashion show, and it couldn’t happen without our dedicated board. Below are descriptions of the four different boards behind our show (creative, finance, publicity, and production). You may apply to up to two boards. The application deadline is Wednesday, September 27th at 11:59pm, and interviews will be held the following week. We hope to see you then!

The Creative Board is in charge of securing the clothing venders for our show. Along with bringing a thematic, creative vision to life, you will also be in charge of resourcing vendors, styling photo shoots, selecting models, and coordinating the show.

The Publicity Board is responsible for coordinating all public relations for IDENTITIES, from managing our social media presence, securing press coverage, handling all external communications, and working collaboratively with the Design Board to conceptualize all promotional content.

The Design Board is responsible for the visual brand of IDENTITIES, working collaboratively with the Publicity Board to conceptualize and create all promotional materials. Through creating unique photo and video content, Design Board members make all the aesthetic and visual decisions – photography, styling, creative/art direction, design – which present IDENTITIES to both the Harvard community and the fashion community at large. Technical skills that are very helpful (but not necessary) include graphic design, video editing, photography.

The Finance Board is in charge of raising money to finance the show by applying for various grants and obtaining corporate and individual financial sponsorships. The board will also be in charge of dealing with any merchandise sponsorship for the show, including IDENTITIES gift bags, which will be distributed to VIP guests at the show. The board is also responsible for monitoring the budget—mainly the Production Board’s expenditure—as well as handling ticket sales prior to the and on the night of the show.

The Production Board is responsible for ensuring that the fashion show logistics come together. The Production Board will design the layout of the show, seek out hair and makeup artists for our models, set the show timeline, etc. You will get an opportunity to plan and execute one of the largest arts events in the Harvard community as a member of the Production Board.
