Held on February 9th at the Watauga Agricultural Center from 9 AM - 3:30 PM, Scaling Up will be FREE for 2 members of each Food Hub farm or business. This training is required for any producer interested in selling through the High Country Food Hub for 2019.
The goal of this training is to increase producers’ capacity and to scale up to new markets. Sessions will focus on building collaborations across the food chain, food quality and food safety, marketing local food, and recordkeeping and business planning. Featuring:
- Keynote: Determining Market Channels w/ Matt LeRoux (Cornell Cooperative Extension)- Locally-sourced Lunch and Annual Business Meeting & Food Hub Annual Report- Breakout Sessions on Pricing Meat Products, Building Efficiency, Quality, & Resiliency in Vegetable Production, and Untangling Food Safety Regulations and Best Practices for Commercial Kitchens- Roundtable on the National Food Hub Landscape
