How did we get here: listen to Duluth community voices:
Applications Open until Dec 15th
Throughout 2017 and 2018, Voices for Racial Justice is hosting organizing circles in cities located outside of the Twin Cities. We are now accepting applications for participation for members of Duluth and Lake Superior community. Circle members will receive stipends for their time participating in a year-long learning opportunity beginning January of 2018. Workshops would be held in Duluth, MN. Members will have the space and freedom to imagine and practice a diversity of approaches for building community power and making change. Circle members must be available to commit to 3-4 two day trainings over the course of 2018, and plan to lead 1-2 community based conversations, events, projects, or actions designed by the circle advancing their vision for Racial Justice.

Trainings will be an immersion in organizing models shaped by, for and with Indigenous communities and communities of color. Our training areas cover:
• Grassroots Policy
• Grassroots Research
• Youth Organizing
• Multigenerational Organizing
• Cultural Organizing
• Narrative Strategy
• Multi-cultural Strategy/Cross-Coalition building
• Healing Justice

Throughout the year circle members will engage in dialogue, in self-reflection activities centering individual growth while learning with trainers who are local & external to their communities, community partners, as well as VRJ staff. Participants will have a major role in shaping the direction and definition of their work to cultivate a community led process for building power. Applications will be reviewed by VRJ staff and past alumni involved in our training followed by an interview process.
