! We run free workshops in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, focusing on self-identifying women and gender-diverse individuals.
Position Overview: Workshop Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting our arts and crafts workshops. Under the supervision of our Team Leads, volunteers will facilitate our workshops by assisting and socializing with with participants, setting up and cleaning up materials, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about community engagement, enjoy arts and crafts, and want to make a meaningful impact. Key Responsibilities:
• Guide and support participants in arts and crafts activities.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere during workshops.
• Help distribute and manage art supplies during sessions.
• Follow instructions from the Team Lead and assist in workshop coordination.
• Support individuals with different skill levels, ensuring everyone feels included.
• Assist in setting up and cleaning up workshop spaces.
Qualifications:
• Interest in arts & crafts. Having experience is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, empathy, and an inclusive mindset.
• Reliability and commitment to scheduled volunteer shifts.
• Experience working with equity-deserving communities is an asset but not required.
