Bundanoon DanceFest
Welcome to the online application process for Bundanoon DanceFest 2017. Bundanoon DanceFest has become a premier event in the Australian social dance calendar, featuring a diversity of dance styles presented by callers expert in their field and attracting capable dancers mainly from the Sydney- Canberra corridor but also drawing from as far afield as Melbourne and Brisbane.

The event is run by Bush Traditions Inc which primarily aims to popularise Australian song, music and dance.

This online form has been developed to simplify the programming process and to allow dance callers to put themselves forward for consideration.

Callers not familiar with the DanceFest are advised to visit the Bush Traditions website www.bushtraditions.org to get a background. ALL the music for the dancing on the weekend is live. Each caller has a lead musician who organises the music for the workshop(s) and provides written music for other musicians to play along. It is useful to have a lead musician in mind, but we can pair you with a suitable musician.

The essence of the weekend is participation rather than performance, and there is opportunity for workshops geared to dancer levels from beginners to advanced.

Lead Musician (if known)
ALL music for the DanceFest is live. As many as 30 musicians come to the weekend to play for the workshops and dances. Your lead musician will liaise with you about the music required and prepare it in a form (pdf preferred) for inclusion on the web site. Other musicians will download and practise the tunes ready for the weekend. At the workshop he/she will lead the music for you, at the tempo required. If you don't have such a person in mind continue with the application and you can be paired with a suitable lead later.
