Repair Café Portsmouth - Volunteer Signup
Repair Café Portsmouth is a neighbourhood initiative that promotes repair as an alternative to throwing things out. It is a monthly event on the 3rd Saturday of each month (except August), between 10.30am and 1pm, in Buckland United Reformed Church, Kingston Road. Residents of Portsmouth can bring their broken items to fix them on the spot with the help of voluntary repairers.

Repair Café Portsmouth is looking for local residents with different skills who can be present as repair experts during the Repair Café meetings. We are especially looking for people who are handy with:
– electrical appliances
– clothing / textiles
– bicycles
– jewellery
– computers
– the internet
– clocks
– furniture / wooden objects
and who enjoy sharing their knowledge with their neighbours.

In addition, we are also looking for people who like to host. We need people to run a small café providing coffee, tea and cake, welcome visitors and serve as a contact point for both visitors and repairers in the Repair Café. And we’re looking for people who can bake some delicious cakes and biscuits before the event each month (ingredient costs will be reimbursed).
