2027 Debut Discord Form

Hello! If you are a 2027 debut author with a traditional publishing deal, please fill out this form to join our Discord community. The 2027 Debut Discord is a supportive space where debut authors can connect, share experiences, and navigate this exciting journey together.

What is a debut?
A debut is typically your first traditionally published book. However, we may also consider authors debuting in a new age group or genre, especially if it marks a significant shift in your writing career.

What constitutes a "traditional publishing deal"?
Traditional book deals typically include an advance, which is an upfront payment made to the author against estimated future royalties. However, digital-first imprints, university presses, and small presses may still qualify if they operate under a traditional publishing model, in which the publisher acquires rights under contract, funds publication through its own business infrastructure, assumes the financial risk, and distributes the book through established commercial or institutional channels.

For the purposes of this group, this does not include self-published, hybrid, assisted, crowdfunded, author-subsidized, commission-based collectives, or net expense-deducting profit-share models.
