The Regional Studies Association Blog provides a platform for researchers, students, practitioners, community members and industry leaders to share their expertise on regional issues from across the globe. As a heavily debated and broadly defined term, a “region” can range from the multi-national (i.e., the European Union) to the sub-national (i.e., western Canada) scale. Regional studies intersect and overlap the political, economic, socio-cultural, environmental, health, and justice sectors of society through a specific spatial lens to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the nature and impacts of change and/or innovation. The RSA Blog - Student Summer Series welcomes substantive, informed, evidence-based articles from graduate students to shares their expertise or experience in matters related to regional studies and insights / highlights from their own research. See
here for full details on the submission requirements of Blogs.
If you are interested in writing for the RSA Blog this summer, please respond to the questions below. We will then contact the students who have been selected to submit their full article for the summer series. Students who are selected will be eligible to win prizes. We will be selecting based on a number of criteria, ensuring that a range of disciplines, regions, and degree-levels are represented throughout the summer. You may be at any stage in your graduate program to submit but you must write about an in-development, current or recently completed research project (within the last year). You may invite co-authors (such as collaborators or supervisors) however the corresponding author must be a graduate student. The corresponding author should complete the submission form below.
Please note - if you are not selected for the summer series, we may still reach out for you to write a blog post to be published in the fall or winter.
