Spend the first day with the writers of the California Science Framework High School chapters and experience a coherent NGSS-aligned Earth and Space Sciences Integrated learning sequence. This 2-day workshop includes a facilitated discussion of the overall 3 course model and the role of integration of Earth science into the other science disciplines. This will be followed by breakout sessions for each course (life science, chemistry, and physics) in which you will deepen understanding of the courses and justification for unit design. The first day will conclude with guided discussion of the Pros and Cons for the order of the courses and time for district teams to consider their next steps. The second day of the workshop will bring you together again to learn about successes and challenges of your decision-making process and provide you with additional support to deepen conversations around high school course sequencing at your school and district. Resources and best-practices that facilitate instructional shifts required for the implementation of the NGSS for all high school students will be shared.
