Midtown Radio's vision is to be KW's premier platform for local music, arts, and culture, setting the standard for fostering connection, dialogue, and understanding through our diverse and inclusive programming. Through digital media, we document, validate, and amplify local music, art, and conversations. Key Responsibilities:
-Develop annual live events plan and schedule in alignment with Midtown Radio's operational and strategic plans
-Build and maintain partnerships with venues, artists, and other organizations
-Select and book artists for events (independently or with partners)
-Secure appropriate venues for different types of events
-Develop and manage event budgets within organizational guidelines
-Coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator to staff events with appropriate volunteers
-Coordinate with the marketing team to advertise and promote events
-Assign roles and responsibilities to event volunteers
-Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown
-Conduct post-event evaluations and document outcomes, challenges, and successes
-Ensure events align with Midtown Radio's mission and values
Preferred Qualifications
-Strong organizational skills and understanding of event planning and management
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to attend events on evenings and weekends (approx 4-6 events per year)
-Problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing circumstances
-Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team-based environment
-Previous experience in event planning or management
-Passionate about the Waterloo Region arts scene and the mission of Midtown Radio
