NCGA Updates Signups 

Recently, Republicans in the NCGA have introduced more legislation aimed at curtailing our rights—it's time to fight back. The five bills are:

Anti LGBTQ+ Bills:

  • S 516 – Trans bathroom bill and ID blocker

  • S 442 / H 560 – Discrimination in the foster care system against trans youth.

  • H 595 & H636 -Parental rights over curriculum and books.

  • H1000 - Detransitioner Bill of Rights

  • H805 - Anti-trans language around sex and gender protections

Anti Reproductive Freedom Bills:

  • H 553 – Medication abortion restrictions (including mail limitations)

  • S 759 / H 519 – Minor consent bill

While we don’t yet know when these bills will be called for a committee hearing or votes we must be prepared when they are.

These hearings will provide an opportunity for public comment, and we want to ensure a strong presence of speakers. We are looking for trans youth, parents, medical experts, and others directly impacted by these bills who are willing to make their voices heard.

Once we have the logistical details confirmed, a member of our team will reach out to rally folks to show up in person or contact representatives.
