Welcome to Assisteens of Capistrano Valley!
Thank you for your interest in joining Assisteens of Capistrano Valley. We're an auxiliary of Assistance League of Capistrano Valley and a proud member of the National Assistance League, founded in 1935.
Our founder, Anne Banning, believed that serving youth was important, but empowering youth to serve others was even better. She invited the daughters and granddaughters of Assistance League members to take part in philanthropic projects, guided by the simple philosophy: "All for service and service for all."
Today, Assisteens of Capistrano Valley welcomes teens in grades 8 through 12 who are dedicated to making a difference. With about 80 members, our chapter completes over 3,000 volunteer hours each year, supporting local organizations and the military families at Camp Pendleton.
How We Meet
Meetings are mandatory and held the first Monday of each month during the school year (August through May). Dates may vary due to holidays. Members lead these meetings with supervision from their moms, using the time to plan and organize meaningful ways to serve those in need.
What We Do
Our members give their time and energy to a wide range of projects, including Laura's House, Family Assistance Ministries (FAM), Operation School Bell, local senior centers, and our military community at Camp Pendleton. Members also volunteer at the Assistance League's own thrift store, the Bargain Box.
What You'll Gain
Beyond community service, Assisteens is designed to help members grow. Each month, guest speakers who are experts in their fields present on topics like self-defense, public speaking, mental health, and college planning. Over the course of this 4 to 5 year program, members build real-world skills that carry them well beyond high school, including accountability, collaboration, event planning, generosity, leadership, mentorship, organization, poise, public speaking, and time management.
Most of all, Assisteens is a place to build genuine friendships, unforgettable memories, and practical skills that last a lifetime. We'd love to have you join us!
