Volunteer Registration - Detroit River Water Festival on Belle Isle
Complete this form to volunteer at the Detroit River Water Festival on Belle Isle in Detroit, MI on Tuesday, September 23 and/or Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Volunteers should plan to arrive at 8:30 am. Coffee and snacks will be provided. There will be a 9:00 am orientation each morning of the Water Festival to familiarize volunteers with their role(s), the festival space, and the event schedule. Each volunteer will also receive a boxed lunch, lanyard / nametag, and a Water Festival T-shirt. The event will end at 1:30pm. 

Volunteer shifts are also available! Come as little or as long as able, starting at 7:30am for set-up on Sept 23, 11am for lunch, or 1:30pm for breakdown on Sept 24. Class guides must be available from 8:30am – 1:30pm


*Free parking is available but vehicles must have a State Recreation Passport to enter Belle Isle.

*This event is completely outdoors and will take place rain or shine. If cancelled, you will receive an email update.

Volunteers are ambassadors for the Water Festival. They play a critical role in guiding each class to their presentation site, assisting with set-up, coordinating lunches, parking, and other logistics before, during, and after the event. We appreciate as much or as little time as you are able to participate!

FRIENDS OF THE DETROIT RIVER

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT 

IT IS HEARBY AGREED AND UNDERSTOOD by the parties, FRIENDS of the DETROIT RIVER (FDR), ALL ASSOCIATED SPONSORS and THE VOLUNTEER PARTICIPANT listed above, that they shall join together for a Detroit River stewardship, education, or recreational event.

The purpose of said agreement is to release FDR, associated sponsors, partners, and property owners from any and all damages that might be sustained by the below named individual while participating in the cleanup effort. Damages may include, but are not limited to, injuries, libel, defamation of character, medical complications or equipment damage. FDR has no responsibility for any minor child that is involved as that it is the parents’ specific responsibility to make sure that said child(ren) are safe at all times, nor for any other damages that may be incurred.

The parties clicking the "I agree" button below agree to all terms and conditions set forth above and acknowledge that this is a legal and binding contract and know the consequences hereto.


PHOTO RELEASE

I hereby grant the Friends of the Detroit River (FDR) the right to make, use, reproduce, modify, and distribute my physical likeness, and publicly exhibit such recordings, in whole or in part, without restrictions or limitations, for any purpose FDR deems appropriate. I further consent to the use of my name and biographical materials in connection with such recordings. I release FDR its successors and assigns, agents, and all persons acting on its behalf from all liability by virtue of any blurring, distortion, alteration, optical illusion, misspellings, inaccuracies, or use is composite form, whether intentional or unintentional, that may occur or be produced in the recording process: waive any right that I may have to inspect or approve the finished recordings: and consent to the assignment of this release to persons or entities to whom FDR provides the subject materials for FDR purposes.
