I. Day 1 - IP Lectures

1. General background IP lecture focusing on patents, TMs, Copyright and plants
2. Advanced IP lecture (a) focusing on patents & patentability assessments - novelty, inventive step, sufficiency and clarity.
3. Advanced IP lecture (b) focusing on FTO and After grant procedures
4. Advanced IP lecture (c) validity/invalidity and infringement - 3rd party observations, EPO oppositions & Appeals, affidavit etc.
5. Litigation - Choice of venue for litigation, where to start first and funding e.g. litigation finance, bank loans, grants, Horizon 20:20, recovery fund etc.
6. Start ups - University ownership, inventor (professor) ownership, funding and where to find it, organic growth of start-up company, M&A, IPO etc.
7. IP Searches - IP landscape analysis, portfolio review, patentability, validity.

II. Day 2 - IP Workshop

- invention spotting,
- types of inventions and how to claim them,
- patent claims drafting,
- claim amendment during prosecution and after grant,
- use of language in claims and description,
- claim construction,
- work around.
