Welcome to the registration page for Canada’s first Co-design festival in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. The event will run over five days both in person and virtually:
February 23 -24, 2023 - In-Person at Ontario Tech University
February 25, 2023 - In-person at CNIB Hub
March 2-3, 2023 - Virtual
There are over 15 different sessions being held in person and virtually.
For in-person sessions, participants will have the opportunity to interact with new and emerging technologies, such as virtual reality and information and communication technologies (known as ICTs). Other sessions will address new digital futures and questions around artificial intelligence, inclusive employment, service delivery, and the development of digital skills.
We are excited to be working with some of the leading researchers in their discipline of accessibility. Each session is part of an individual research project. We are looking for participants who identify as blind, Deafblind, partially sighted, or living with sensory processing disabilities (e.g., brain injury, neurodiversity) to attend our in-person and
virtual sessions.
What is Co-design?
Co-design takes the end-user perspective in the design of products and services.
Co-design goes beyond a standard focus group, brainstorming in a collective
fashion to develop a new product, good, or service. The focus is to design with,
rather than design for, or after production, to address barriers. Co-design is
driven by principles of universal design and addressing the accessibility needs of
those directly impacted by the design process. Co-design approaches allow the
inclusion of perspectives of end-users at the earliest stages of the design
process.
What will you do?
During participant registration, you can select the session or sessions of interest.
We look forward to having you join us for the upcoming CNIB Accessibility Workshops. We have a few questions to make sure you get the most out of your visit!
