The Davis County Library welcomes the suggestions patrons submit for consideration to purchase for the collection.

The Library receives hundreds of such suggestions each month and considers them in addition to print and on-line reviews of the thousands of new titles in all formats published each year.  Each suggestion is appreciated and valued; the staff recognizes that patrons submit titles that are of interest and importance to them.  However, within the limits of available funds, final purchase decisions are based on an evaluation of collection needs, plans and policies and the long-term interest and usability of a title for the community as a whole.

If the Library purchases a suggested title, that title will be placed on hold for the patrons who submitted it, and the patron will note that hold on his or her record.  Patrons will not be otherwise notified if their suggestion is not purchased.
