This civilization was first inhabited native Americans who came via the ice bridge between Siberia and Alaska around 12,600 years ago. Europeans came in the 1620's with English citizen's pining for greater religious liberty. Eventually it grew into 13 colonies, and gradually 50 states. This democracy was founded 244 years ago, in 1776. It is young country in the context of civilization. The country must be protected in so my ways by the citizens who call this beautiful land "home."

The most square miles conquered by one man, ever. Quite incredible considering Genghis Kahn did it 1206. His empire lasted until 1368 when it essentially fizzled out because of it's large size and administrative burden.
