The Ontario Music Educators’ Association is pleased to announce that from September 28th to 30th 2018 we will be hosting a retreat for music educators who are entering or are new to the profession. During this event, we will be welcoming up to forty participants to Orillia ON for what be a fun-filled, one-of-a-kind professional development opportunity. Our line-up of workshops will be facilitated by members of the board of directors as well as from notable guest clinicians.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to individuals meeting the following criteria:
- Students in their 3rd or 4th year of a music education undergraduate program
- Students who are attending teacher’s college
- Teachers who are in their first five years of teaching

Accommodation and Meals

Accommodations will be provided by the OMEA at Comfort Inn Orillia. Two participants will be assigned per room. The OMEA will provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday as well as breakfast on Sunday.

Transportation

If you are unsure of transportation options at this time, you are still encouraged to apply. Attendees will be coming from all parts of the province and the OMEA will work to make carpooling a reality. The OMEA will reimburse participants who are driving at a rate of 40 cents per kilometer up to a maximum of $100.

Fee

A nominal fee of $50 will be charged for all participants. The vast majority of costs will be subsidized by the OMEA.
