Welcome to Maryland's Poetry Out Loud Registration Form! In collaboration with Maryland Humanities and the Maryland Center for the Book, the Maryland State Arts Council will be hosting the 2025-2026 Poetry Out Loud regional and state competitions in-person! Regional and state competition dates will be announced in December.

Who: Poetry Out Loud is open to all high school students.

Registration: Registration is available to teachers, schools, and organizations. Students who do not have a local competition available in their school or community may register as an Independent Student. Select your registration type below and click "Next" to continue.

Registration Deadline: Registration closes Friday, December 5, at 11:59PM. After you complete your registration form you will receive further information about the next steps, coaching opportunities, and regional competitions.
