Are you looking to do more to fight for your community, but don’t know where to start?
The Katy Jewett Organizer Bootcamp is coming up on the weekend of May 3. It is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to organize their community. See more details below, and please forward this email to folks you know!- Saturday, May 3rd | 9am - 4pm + Sunday, May 4th | 12pm - 5pm
- Location: Bayland Community Center | 6400 Bissonnet St. Houston TX 77074
During the two-day boot camp, experienced organizers with backgrounds in political, community, and labor organizing will teach you the best practices of engaging your neighbors and friends to vote, volunteer or take collective action. By the end of the weekend, you'll have a clear roadmap for organizing your neighborhood, precinct, community, or co-workers.
This won't be an easy training - everyone who participates will be expected to put their skills to the test during the boot camp by knocking doors, calling voters, recruiting volunteers and more.
Please RSVP below to reserve your place at the Organizer Bootcamp!
Everyone interested in fighting for a better future for all Texans is encouraged to attend, but attendance is a requirement for anyone applying to join the Katy Jewett Organizer Apprenticeship.
The Katy Jewett Organizer Apprenticeship is a 16 month long fully-paid career pathway designed to give you a strong grounding in our local, state, and national political system, an understanding of how things work and how we can change them, and the skills and relationships you’ll need to enact real, meaningful change.
