Hamartia: Developing Character and Story for Short Films
Join visiting filmmaker, Arpita Kumar, in a short form screenwriting workshop!

Unpacking hamartia, the tragic flaw, students will work directly with award-winning, internationally recognized independent filmmaker and screenwriter, Arpita Kumar, to develop their own screenplay. Students will leave the 2-hour workshop with an outline for a three act short film.

Mechanical Eye Microcinema is a volunteer-operated, non-profit organization powered by fundraisers and donations from our community. These contributions help us acquire the resources we need to enrich our classes and provide students with supplies, equipment, a place to film, and a hands-on, participatory and supportive filmmaking experience!

Media Release
Mechanical Eye Microcinema & class instructors may post online versions of work made in classes. Any photos, recorded (video or audio) and written materials created for and/or during Mechanical Eye Microcinema classes may be used for promotional purposes by Mechanical Eye Microcinema & class instructors in the future.
